Dr. Martin is passionate about sharing her dental expertise and knowledge in the local community. In addition to her commitments to resident education within the American Veterinary Dental College® and independent teaching, she volunteers her time and staff for pro bono surgery repairing maxillofacial birth defects, typically a cleft palate. These fragile babies are often euthanized at birth due to the difficulty in raising them and cost of surgery that they will need. Dr. Martin has a special interest in reconstructive maxillofacial surgery and feels strongly that these little ones deserve a chance to thrive despite having a rough start in life. Premier Pet Dentistry works with selected local non-profit rescue groups and veterinary practices to provide lifesaving surgery for puppies and kittens born with congenital cleft palate defects.

Dr. Martin also is proud to be the Veterinary Dentist consultant for the Oregon Zoo, volunteering her time to work on multiple exotic species and partnering with the skilled veterinarians on staff.
